Temple?

Imagine for a moment, 

The Vatican sponsors the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. 
A peace accord is signed, between the Muslim and Jewish peoples, administered by the Pope.

The building project is going forth rapidly. And soon to be opened. 
The holy objects are gathered, and sanctified according to the Law. 
The red heifer is slaughtered, and its ashes gathered. 

Then a huge earthquake shakes Italy. The Vatican is destroyed, and the Pope declares that since he is the vicar of Christ, and god on Earth, declares that he will reside at the Jerusalem Temple.
